About Madenli
Madenli is a plateau settlement located in the Seydişehir district of Konya Province, surrounded by the impressive Giden Gelmez Mountains at an altitude of approximately 1,600 meters. Situated about 160 km from Alanya, the area is one of the hidden gems of the Taurus Mountains, known for its cedar forests, open alpine meadows, karst formations, and spectacular mountain scenery.
For many years, the settlement was known as Keçili. During the 1960s, rich bauxite (aluminum ore) deposits were discovered in the region, leading to the village being renamed Madenli. These discoveries later played an important role in the development of the Seydişehir Aluminum Plant, one of Turkey's major industrial projects.
Today, Madenli remains a peaceful mountain settlement where traditional stone houses, plateau culture, and the wild landscapes of the Giden Gelmez Mountains attract hikers and nature enthusiasts seeking an authentic outdoor experience.
