A Weekend in Ermenek

Ermenek

We leave Alanya in the morning and, after approximately one hour on the road, stop in Karapınar for a breakfast break.

Around midday, we arrive at Ermenek’s beautiful turquoise reservoir and board our boat for a scenic cruise towards Nadire Canyon.

If the weather and conditions are suitable, we will also stop for swimming, so please bring your swimsuit, towel and anything else you may need for the water.

After the boat trip, we continue to Ermenek town centre and check in at Selçuklu Hotel.

Following a short rest, we head out to explore Ermenek on foot. Walking through the neighbourhood streets gives us a chance to experience the town’s everyday life, traditional character and local atmosphere.

Please note that Ermenek is built on a hillside and many of its streets are steep and uneven, so comfortable walking shoes are strongly recommended.

Dinner will be served at our hotel.

Çatalbadem Köyü

After breakfast at the hotel, we check out and begin our journey towards Kazancı, enjoying beautiful views of the Ermenek Reservoir along the way.

In Kazancı, we visit a traditional local mill where we can see how peppers, tomatoes, corn, sumac and flour are ground using traditional methods. It is also a chance to experience the wonderful aromas that fill the mill during the process.

We then continue to Çatalbadem Village.

Here, we will visit a local orchard and have the opportunity to pick seasonal fruits and vegetables directly from the trees and plants.

As the village name suggests, almonds are an important part of local life. Make sure you try the fresh almonds, especially the soft-shelled varieties that can easily be cracked by hand.

Later in the day, we visit Zeyve Pazarı, one of the most peaceful stops of our journey.

Natural spring waters flow beneath magnificent centuries-old plane trees, creating a wonderful setting to relax, walk around and enjoy some time surrounded by nature.

In the late afternoon, we say goodbye to Ermenek and begin our return journey to Alanya.
