Shall we experience the uniqueness of climbing to the archaic lands where the light rises in the east, by far the east of our country, the highest point of Turkey - the Sacred Volcanic Mount Ararat (5.137m.) and enjoy Mount Ararat and the neighbourhood together. 

We are organising our "Sacred Volcanic Mount Ararat Summit" programme at the most convenient time of the year and the route which is known as the classical route and does not include technical challenges. We are preparing our climbs keeping the comfort and safety of our participants in mind at the highest level.

OUR SUMMARY ACTIVITY PROGRAMME 

DAY 1: Transfer to Antalya airport, flight to Van by Sun-Express airlines; arrival at Van Ferit Melen airport; transfer to Doğubayazıt.  

Checking in at our hotel in Doğubayazıt.

DAY 2: Setting off for "Mount Ararat 3.200m Campsite" after the breakfast at our hotel; Arrival at the campsite and setting up the tents. 

DAY 3: Acclimatisation exercise at Mount Ararat. 

DAY 4: Setting of for "Mount Ararat 4.200m Campsite; Setting up the tents 

DAY 5: Mount Ararat Summit ( 5.137m) 

DAY 6: Descending; İshakpaşa Palace and Van; Akdamar Island as an alternative tour.

DAY 7: Flight to Antalya from Van Ferit Melen Airport. 

 

OUR DETAILED PROGRAMME

DAY 1: FLIGHT TO VAN AIRPORT - MEETING AND SURROUNDING TRIPS

We are flying to Van from Antalya. We are going to visit Muradiye Waterfalls depending on flight time and suitability. "Muradiye Waterfalls" streaming on the Bendimahi river in the Muradiye town of Van takes its name from Sultan Murat IV heading for the Baghdad Campaign. The waterfall completely freezes in winter and is used as a climbing zone by the mountaineers.

DAY 2: MOUNT ARARAT - 3200 M CAMPSITE

After the breakfast at our hotel, we are heading to Çevirme village by our vehicle. Loading our camping equipment to the horses, we start our hike to " Mount Ararat 3.200m Campsite" which is going to take 5-6 hours. Setting up our tents in our campsite, camp meal, briefing and resting.

DAY 3: MOUNT ARARAT ACCLIMATIZATION 

Climbing up to 4.200m Campsite for acclimatisation after the camp breakfast and turning back to 3.200m Campsite. Night stay at 3.200 Campsite. 

DAY 4: MOUNT ARARAT - 4200 M CAMPSITE

Loading our camping equipment to the horses after the camp breakfast, we restart our climb up to "Mount Ararat 4.200m Campsite". After approximately 4-5 hours of climbing, dinner and night stay is at our 4.200m Campsite.

DAY 5: MOUNT ARARAT SUMMIT ( 5.137 M )

Finally Mount Ararat Summit ( 5.137m) day. Setting off for the summit from 4.200 Campsite. Good morning from Mount Ararat (5.137m) the highest point of Anatolia and mentioned in three sacred books related to the Flood. Descending to 4.200m Campsite after the celebration at the summit and photo session, packing camp equipment and arriving at 3.200m Campsite to stay the night there. 

DAY 6: SPARE DAY

Packing camp equipments after the camp breakfast, loading the goods to the horses and descending.

We have two spare days depending on the summit weather conditions; in case of doing summit early or later, we are going to the alternative programmes below:

DAY 7: RETURN

Important Reminders, Warnings and Suggestions:

Mount Ararat climb does not include any technical difficulty; yet, condition and stamina needed.It’s important to train regularly and follow a healthy diet before the climb. Mountain conditions challenge the temperature differences between day and night time; thus, clothing preferences should be made accordingly.

Suggestions: Take your museum card, seasonal clothes, quality trekking shoes, gloves, berets, polar sweats, cream, sleeping bag, mat, headtorch, tent, backpack for daily hikes, thermos and bottle for water and drinks.  Don't forget to bring your charger and any medicine if used regularly.
