Step by Step Lycian Way 2024

A  unique hiking experience along the ancient paths of the Lycian  civilization, passing through historic cities and stunning landscapes  that have stood the test of time for thousands of years.

Are  you ready to hike all paths of Lycian Way with first steps? We are  going to learn, share and change together on the path. Let's write the  first part of the story. Exceptionally wonderful bays, panoramic views,  exciting moments and sweet weariness with nice chats are awaiting us on  the historic paths of Lycian civilizations.

On  the historic trails of the Lycian civilizations, breathtaking bays,  panoramic views, thrilling moments, and delightful conversations await  you, along with the sweet satisfaction of a good day's hike.

Day 1 We  will meet in Fethiye, where you'll have some free time to explore.  During this time, we'll visit the Fethiye Cable Car and take a trip to  Ölüdeniz.

For  guests joining from Alanya and Antalya, transfer services are included  in the price. For those arriving from Dalaman, we can arrange  airport-to-hotel transfer services. (optional)

We  will be setting off  from Alanya at 08:00 and from Antalya at 10:30.  Please consider this while purchasing your flight tickets.

Day 2: Ovacık - Faralya 14 km Duration: Appox. 5-6 hours Difficulty Level: Medium Our  14 km hike follows the ancient Roman road, offering stunning views of  Ölüdeniz and Babadağ. We start in Ovacık, ascend to the foothills of  Babadağ, and then descend to Faralya Village, located above Butterfly  Valley. At our hotel with a view of Butterfly Valley, we enjoy dinner  together and reflect on the first day. The next morning, after breakfast  at the hotel, we begin our hike towards Alınca.

Day 3: Faralya - Alınca 13 km Duration: Approx. 5-6 hours Difficulty level: Medium Our  hike towards Kabak Bay, one of Fethiye’s most beautiful coves, is once  again adorned with breathtaking natural scenery. We’ll have a  challenging ascent to Alınca, and by the evening, we’ll have plenty of  stories to share.

Day 4: Alınca - Bel 16 km Duration: Approx. 7-8 hours Difficulty level: Medium+ We  are heading for Cennet Bay through ancient paths with wonderful views.  We experience moments here that make us wish we could stop time.

Day 5: Delikkemer- Patara 10 km Duration: Approx. 5-6 hours Difficulty level: Medium According  to mythological stories, Patara was founded by Paturus, the son of  Apollo, along with the water nymph Lycia. Let's leave our footprints  together on the trails that stretch from Delikkemer, the aqueduct that  once carried water from Bodomya to the ancient city of Patara.

Day 6: Kalkan - Bezirgan 8 km Duration: Approx. 5-6 hours Difficulty level: Medium+ The  zigzagging paths rising from Kalkan take us past island views and lead  us to old but still-used grain storage barns. Leaving this fertile plain  behind, we reach Bezirgan and complete the first section of the Lycian  Way.

Beverages at the hotel, entrance fees to historical sites, and the cable car ticket are not included.

Suggestions and Recommendations We  recommend choosing a high-quality pair of shoes suitable for hiking. If  you’ve recently purchased new shoes, make sure to wear them for at  least a week in your daily life to break them in.

Consider  the seasonal conditions and day-night temperature differences when  packing your clothing. Moisture-wicking, quick-drying clothes are  recommended.
